Thank You, Mr. Falker by Patricia Polacco
Thank You, Mr. Falker by Patricia Polacco is I am collecting Patricia Polacco books for my children. We received our first, "bun bun button" in the mail through a program called Books from Birth that is sponsored by Dolly Parton. Children who are signed up at birth for this free program receive one book per month till they are five years and go to school. (Excellent Charity but that's another review) This is her story. It is amazing to think that something as ordinary as a day at school and as simple as a teacher who tries can change the life of one person. And that this one person can in turn change the life of millions of people through her writing. Had he not cared, and she never learned, my children and I would have never sat down and read this amazing stories that are told through her children's books. Our lives are fuller because of her. Her life is fuller because of him. (Mr. Falker) One kind act or one caring heart, can make a difference......this is a tribute to that truth. It is an excellent book. All of hers are. Patricia Polacco never fails to touch the heart.
Thank You, Mr. Falker by Patricia Polacco is As a teacher, I found this book to be uplifting and delightful. Anonymous instructions I've written just inside, tell teachers to write a note to another teacher telling what they do that is inspiring, with no need to sign their name, tuck it in the book, and pass it along. Hopefully, here at the end of a long school year, these notes will make many teachers feel that they're special.
Thank You, Mr. Falker by Patricia Polacco is A favorite book got any teacher - I have read this so many times to audiences making a point about the teaching of reading, and I STILL cannot read it without a little tear or two in my eyes. maybe it's a teacher thing. Of all Polacco's works, one of my favorites.
Thank You, Mr. Falker by Patricia Polacco is Having a child with a reading disability like dyslexia, I knew I wanted find books to open up dialogue between us. Help her tap into her feelings and see the positives about her reading disability. This book was wonderful. I was sad and happy. By the end both my daughter and I were crying. It helped us to talk about her feelings and struggles at school. I admire the author for sharing her personal journey with the world. She helped a little girl not feel alone. I wish all teachers had this in their classroom.
