The Last Kids on Earth and the Nightmare King by Max Brallier is I bought all three books at the same time for my 9 and 6 year old son and daughter and they both love the series. The second book actually kept us all wanting to read more and made it hard to put the book down. The Nightmare King is not as fast paced and a bit repetitive. But MB does such an amazing job of presenting horror/adventure themes and ideas in a way that is not frightening to my kids and keeps them very much engaged. We are definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.
The Last Kids on Earth and the Nightmare King by Max Brallier is My 10 year old son loves these books. If your kid is into books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Trapped in a Video Game they will probably like this series also.
The Last Kids on Earth and the Nightmare King by Max Brallier is Usually getting my 9yo to read is like getting someone to enjoy a root canal. With this book, he wouldn't stop reading!

There is such a lack of options for young boys who are not into scouts-fi or fantasy books so this was refreshing to find! Many thanks to Mr. Brallier for creating something to peak a young minds interest and creating a passion for literacy!
